About the Artist

Mike Shipley

Mike Shipley's carvings are recognizable by the clean cuts and simple yet eye-catching designs. Every piece is hand carved and painted by Mike with the assistance of his wife, Sherry.

Mike was born and raised in Ozark County Missouri in the heart of the Ozark mountains. He is a self taught carver and has been carving since 1976. Mike is a professional carver and has been teaching classes since 1996. At the time of this writing, he has also published five "How to" carving books.
